Before the Game

Pick up your starter kit (envelope ‘ASCENSION’) at the St-Luc funiculaire ticket office during opening hours. English or French versions are available.

The game begins upon arrival at the funiculaire (funiculaire's rooftop). Head to point 1 on the game map found inside the envelope you received.

• Make sure your phone is fully charged and that you have internet access! Warning: weak signal with Yallo. Use a more reliable network if possible.
• Listen to the audio file (when there is one!).

During the Game

An ordered list of puzzles is accessible, as shown in the image below:

• A greyed-out puzzle is locked.
• A colored puzzle is available.
• A puzzle with a new icon has been completed.

Duration

The game itself lasts about 90 minutes (the round-trip walk is approximately 5 hours). After entering the game access code, a timer (not visible) is started, allowing you to see your total time at the end of the game.

How to Play

1. In the ordered puzzle list: click on the unlocked puzzle, read the message from the illustrated character and play the audio file (if there is one).
2. In the game's envelope: use the map to find the corresponding “puzzle panel” along the trail. On this panel, focus only on the illustration inside the wooden frame titled “ASCENSION.”
3. From the enveloppe, work out which elements you need in order to solve the puzzle.
4. Enter your answer in the Localiz online platform answer field.
5. If you’re stuck, use the hint cards located under the answer field.
6. Once you’ve answered correctly, click ‘validate’ to continue. Make sure you’ve completed the puzzle before moving on!
7. Please do not write on the “puzzle panels”. You may write in Griolet’s notes.
8. Repeat points 1. to 7.

Along the trail, signs and symbols painted in orange on rocks guide you along the right path!

At the End of the Game

Once the game is over, take a selfie with your team at the Griolet lighthouse.

Share it on your Instagram and tag @stluc.chandolin, @valdanniviers, and @mathildeheu_studio. You can then collect your reward at the St-Luc funiculaire ticket office during opening hours.

If you need to cut your walk short, you can choose to finish the game in one of the participating establishments where a copy of the puzzle-panels will be available (depending on their opening hours). Please make sure to order at least one drink while you're there.
